Frosted Polycarbonate Sheet

One or both faces matted — privacy and glare control while keeping ≥ 88% light transmission.

Frosted polycarbonate carries a matte texture rolled into the surface during extrusion — not a film, not a coating, and not something that can wear off. It scatters light without blocking much of it: our frosted grade holds light transmission of at least 88%.

That combination is the point. Sandblasted glass gives privacy but is fragile and heavy; applied films give privacy but peel and bubble. Frosted PC gives obscuration, keeps the brightness, and survives being hit.

Where the finish matters

  • Single-sided frost — one face matte, one face gloss. Standard for partitions where one side is cleaned and the other is not.
  • Double-sided frost — uniform appearance from both sides, and the better choice for free-standing screens and lighting diffusers.
  • Glare control — the matte surface breaks up reflections, which matters for display screens, machine viewing windows and interior partitions near windows.

Typical applications

  • Office and bathroom partition glazing
  • Machine viewing windows where glare is a problem
  • Light fittings and softbox diffusers
  • Balustrade infill panels
  • Retail fixtures and shelf dividers

Minimum order and lead time

This grade ships from 100 m² or 1 tonne — a trial pallet, not a full container. Standard sizes and stock colours run in 7–10 days; non-standard thickness or width in 12–18 days; add 3–7 days for CNC cut-to-size work. Quoted in USD on FOB, CIF or DDP terms. Questions buyers ask

Is the frosting a coating that can wear off?

No. The texture is embossed into the sheet surface during extrusion, so it cannot peel, scratch off or wash away. Applied frosting films can and do.

How much light does frosting cost me?

Very little. Our frosted grade holds ≥ 88% light transmission against up to 90% for clear sheet — a difference you will not notice, unlike the privacy you gain.

Can I get frosted acrylic instead?

Yes — see frosted acrylic. It is cheaper and harder-wearing at the surface, but it will crack under impact where polycarbonate will not.
